Accounts Coordinator, Western Canada
Having grown up in the island nation of Japan, the oceans have always been a big interest for Shiori. In fact, her ocean-obsessed parents gave her her name to mean “Home of the Tides”. With a great passion for protecting our natural environment, she came to Canada to study Natural Resource Conservation at UBC. She got involved in student sustainability initiatives on campus and various volunteer roles in environmental non-profit organizations, including the Vancouver Aquarium and the Ocean Wise Seafood Program. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she worked for an environmental education non-profit organization in Vancouver where she expanded her experiences in community education. She is passionate about community, sustainability, and connecting people to where their food comes from, and is excited to promote sustainable seafood in her new role as Accounts Coordinator. Outside of the office, you can catch her bouldering, obsessing over honeybees, and practicing some tunes on her ukulele.
