The Ocean Wise Seafood Festival is a month-long fundraising event celebrating sustainable seafood hosted by Ocean Wise partner businesses across the country. This event will drive awareness about the importance of sustainable seafood and the variety of places to access those options in support of healthy oceans, lakes, and rivers.
Ocean Wise partners across the country will be selling sustainable seafood chowders, dishes, fillets or packaged products, with part proceeds donated to the Ocean Wise Seafood program.
Every dollar raised during the Ocean Wise Seafood Festival ensures that everyone has the resources and guidance they need to support sustainable seafood systems, avoid overfished species, and limit bycatch and habitat damage. Collectively, our Ocean Wise choices make a difference for the fishers and farmers working to secure the health of our oceans, lakes and rivers for generations to come.

North West Treasure: In this treasure bowl, you will find Dungeness crab, caught in Area A (Hecate Strait) by our fishermen friends, Sea Harvest (or) Nanruss, ginger tuna flake made with albacore as well as halibut cheek both caught off the west coast of Haida Gwaii), bok choy from Rupert Garden Center Hydroponic Unit, garlic chips made with garlic organically harvested by Woodgrain Farm in Kispiox. It is finished with half boiled egg, green onion and walnut/sesame seed paste which will dramatically changes the flavour of the Fukasaku’s original tomato/miso broth, enriched with Dungeness crab and spot prawn heads, nutty and creamy. We are so glad to celebrate OW Seafood Festival with local seafood caught by local fishermen and local produce harvested by local farmers.
