Blue Water Cafe – One of the founding Ocean Wise restaurant partners, Blue Water Cafe is committed to sourcing sustainable seafood and crafting innovative and memorable West coast dishes.
Community Natural Foods – Providing Calgarians with natural food at great prices. Community Natural Foods has committed to reducing food miles, managing waste, using green bags, eliminating single-use plastic water bottles, increasing efficiencies, involving communities, and maintaining high product standards.
Craft Beer Market – A premium casual restaurant with a passion for fresh, local food and fresh local beer. Craft Beer Market’s philosophy of “Think global, support local” is reflected in their commitment to using fresh, local and sustainable ingredients whenever possible.
City of Vancouver | Vancouver Foundation – Seafood is an important part of Vancouver’s food culture, but local sustainable seafood is not as accessible to all Vancouver residents as it needs to be. Through support from a 2014 and 2016 Greenest City Community Grant, Ocean Wise works to enable a wider availability and education of sustainable seafood to Vancouver residents than ever before. As part of this effort, Ocean Wise is collaborating with a greater diversity of Vancouver restaurants, including underrepresented ethnic establishments, restaurants at different price ranges, and outside of the downtown core. Efforts will also focus on highlighting underutilized local seafood species, working with new and existing Vancouver partners to bring more local ocean-friendly options to consumers.
Miku Restaurant – Situated along the Burrard Inlet next to the Vancouver landmark Canada Place, Miku Waterfront continues to deliver gourmet Aburi cuisine paired with its well known, energetic ambiance. Executive Corporate Chef Kazuya Matsuoka and Executive Chef Kazuhiro Hayashi take advantage of fresh, regional ingredients as well as Ocean Wise seafood options to showcase the best of what Vancouver has to offer.
Minami Restaurant – Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown, Minami Restaurant delivers one of the most unique and innovative dining experiences to Vancouver. Minami follows the pioneering footsteps of sister restaurant Miku, introducing the Aburi style or flame seared technique to Vancouver’s thriving sushi scene in 2008. From the kitchen, seasonal and regional ingredients as well as Ocean Wise seafood options are integrated into dishes to reflect the diversity of responsible food choices.
River Cafe Restaurant – River Cafe Restaurant works with Ocean Wise at the Vancouver Aquarium and relies on our current, valuable scientific information on sustainable seafood choices. River Cafe Restaurant often buys directly from fishermen, and coastal shellfish operations that best manage their resources.
Vancity – Vancity’s vision is to redefine wealth in a way that furthers the financial, social and environmental well-being of members and communities.
Vancouver Galaxy Lions Club – The Lions Club seeks to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Chefs for Oceans – Chef Ned Bell’s goal for the future of sustainable seafood is to create a movement which, within the next 10 years, allows every Canadian to easily and readily access sustainable seafood for themselves and their families. The hope is that as the sustainable seafood movement continues to grow, environmentally responsible procedures will become firmly rooted as standard methods in future generations. Also at the forefront of Chef Bell’s journey is the goal to institute and raise awareness for National Sustainable Seafood Day, a day which spotlights the necessity of healthy oceans, lakes and rivers for the futures of both human beings and the environment. As the father of three young sons; Fin, Max, and Jet, Chef Bell is dedicated to inspiring Canadians to become part of the solution for healthier oceans for today’s children and generations to come.

Gulf of Georgia Cannery – The Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society honours Canada’s fishing heritage by preserving and promoting West Coast fishing history.
Hua Foundation is a youth-led organization that supports Chinese-Canadian youth to participate in social and environmental change in our communities by connecting our shared values, diverse culture, and rich heritage. Their food security project, the Choi Project, puts healthy, local, real food back on the Chinese dinner table through public education and business partnerships. Hua Foundation is proud to be working with Ocean Wise to bring sustainable seafood options to
Chinese restaurants and food businesses.
LEAF is a environmentally conscious sustainable restaurant certification based in Canada. They work with restaurants to assist them with reducing their overall environmental impact as a business. They provide sustainability tools and in person support to target the areas of energy, water and waste reduction with the ultimate result of a more environmentally conscious and
economically sustainable restaurant model. LEAF is proud to be working with Ocean Wise to educate more restaurants on the importance of offering and promoting sustainable seafood options.
Mealshare Toronto is a socially sustainable program for restaurants. Similar to Ocean Wise, a
logo appears beside a menu item indicating that the item is sustainable in nature. Only with Mealshare, your sustainable purchase does social good. When you order a Mealshare Item, you get your meal just like normal. And, someone in need also receives a meal – buy one, give one!

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada – Our mission is to provide a world class experience that will foster education, conservation, and research, while providing fun and entertainment for locals and tourists of all ages.
The Royal Ontario Museum – ROM Biodiversity helps you understand and conserve nature. Our curators, research scientists, and communicators work across the planet – from the high Arctic to Tierra del Fuego, from Borneo and Sri Lanka, to the Amazon. We also work in our own backyard, helping local communities steward and protect biodiversity. Located in Toronto, the ROM is Canada’s largest field research museum, and holds the largest collection of natural history specimens in the Country.
The Jellyfish Project is an educational initiative focused on generating awareness among youth about the declining health of our world’s oceans and our environment at large. Through the power of music and live performance, students are engaged into the environmental conversation and are given information on how to become active participants in the sustainability movement.
